The Care Act 2014 is a new piece of legislation that brings together and modernises social care law

Over the next few months you will see more updates about the Act and find out how you can get further information or get involved. 

One of the key changes in the Act is around assessments for adult carers who provide care and support to other adults. This will mean looking at the current arrangements for carers’ assessments and making changes in light of Care Act requirements.

To do this, there are two sessions planned to work with carers and carer representative groups about:

·        What the Care Act says about carer assessment

·        The views and experiences of carers on current arrangements

·        Ideas and suggestions for what needs to change, and

·        Developing a new carers’ assessment.

If you are an adult carer of other adults, or a representative of a carer group, we would value your involvement in this important work and change.  

You will need to attend both sessions.
