Cornerstone is a project set up by local churches in Benwell in the west of Newcastle upon Tyne. 
We were formed initially in 1987 and now operate from our purpose-built centre on Armstrong Road. 

Our work is led by a mixture of staff and volunteers and currently includes the following:

• Wednesday Lunch Club for older people
• Baby and toddler group
• Support for people learning how to use computers
• Activities with and in local schools
• Term-time after school club
• Work with adults with learning disabilities (The Welcome Project)
• Low-cost clothing
• Monthly community church
