As if by magic an exhibition celebrating one of the most popular children’s novels in history has opened its doors.

Visitors to Newcastle City Library can find out more about the fascinating world of wizardry at the display inspired by the Harry Potter: A History of Magic at the British Library exhibition in London.

There are specially designed panels showing images of rare books, manuscripts and magical objects which feature in the British Library’s exhibition, as well as images of material from JK Rowling and Bloomsbury’s own collections.

Newcastle is one of 20 libraries across the UK to be running the exhibition and each one has also delved into the magic and folklore of their own region.
