The Band Academy in Newcastle gives people with learning disabilities the opportunity to develop skills in music and singing, to form their own band, and to perform live to audiences. Professional musicians work with people on the academy to help them write and record their own music and to promote their work. You will have the chance to perform monthly at The Twisting Ducks live music/open mic nights and to go on tour. The Academy helps people to develop their confidence and communication skills, to improve their health and wellbeing, and to build friendships.
