Lockdown to be eased with a 4-step plan

On the 22nd of February 2021, Boris Johnson the prime minister of the UK made an announcement about a 4-step plan for coming out of lockdown. This means that restrictions will be eased gradually, with the first changes being made on the 8th of March.

Boris has stressed that each stage is to be taken with caution, so that the UK doesn’t have to slide back into lockdown. If COVID-19 rates continue to decrease with everyone continuing to follow government guidance, then these stages will go ahead as planned.

The ‘stay at home’ order remains in place until March 29th, where it will be replaced by advice to ‘stay local’.
