These sessions are one to one to give advice about finding ancestors using Ancestry.com and Find My Past websites and other resources we have at the library.

It is helpful to bring along as much information as possible including names, dates of birth, where your relatives may have been born or lived and other family members. The more information you have to start with, the more likely you are to be successful in your search.

Drop in sessions take place every Saturday between 10am and 11:30am at Cleadon Park Library.

These sessions provide a basic introduction with helpful tips on how to conduct your own research.

For more information call 0191 424 6194. We also run Bookable sessions at South Shields Central Library every Friday between 10am and 4pm. These sessions provide in depth and guided support and help to trace family trees. A maximum of six 1 hour sessions can be booked. To book call 0191 424 7864.
