As part of implementing the new Care Act 2014 requirements, we’re delivering a one day learning event for local social care and wellbeing advice and information providers in North Tyneside.

This event is NOT trying to teach already experienced  advice and information providers how to do their job!

What it will do is bring together all of the key changes as a result of the Care Act into one place, so you are better able to support your customers / patients with the most up to date information about the local care and support system. You will then be able to support your customers to understand:

·         The local care and support system and how it works.
·         How they can access care and support services.
·         What types of care and support are available, and the choice of providers.
·         Care and support related financial information and advice, including how to access independent financial advice.
·         How to raise concerns about the safety or wellbeing of someone who has care and support needs

The session will cover:

·         How care and wellbeing services are structured in the Council
·         How and where to access services.
·         Council wellbeing services.
·         Prevention services.
·         The new adult social care assessment, eligibility and support planning process.
·         Support available to carers.
·         Key access points such as Gateway and Care and Connect.
·         SIGN  North Tyneside.
·         Safeguarding.
·         Web information.
·         New requirements for providing financial information.
·         Future plans for advice and information in North Tyneside.

There are two dates to choose from to enable you to invite as many members of your team or organisation that you can:

·         18 March 2015 – 9.15am to 4.00pm. The Riverside Centre, Minton Lane North Shields.
