Tired of showing films on the small screen to small audiences, a collective of Northeast organisations have decided to come together to create a new opportunity for films produced by people with learning disabilities and autism to be screened at The Tyneside Cinema.

Bringing often unseen and under-valued film to the forefront, and reaching new audiences, the film nights will showcase original and entertaining work from disability arts groups, including Beacon Hill Arts, Choice, FilmABLE, GOALs, Headway Aarts, The Lawnmowers Theatre Co, Liberdade, StageFright, and The Twisting ducks Theatre Co.

With the mission to get more people with learning disabilities and autism involved in film making, Forefront Film nights are offering a free animation workshop pre-event, at Broadacre House. Participants will be supported to produce a short animation piece and see it screened at The Tyneside Cinema on one of the upcoming Forefront film nights.
