Sport Central
Northumbria Sport is primarily based out of Sport Central, a £30 million state of the art sports facility, that offers students, staff and the general public access to the facilities and services that are of the highest quality. Click on the links below to find out more about the facilities we offer or to book on to group exercise classes or hire individual facilities, such as squash courts.
Sport Central's opening hours are listed below, however individual facilities may have reduced hours, so please using the facility links to find out more.

Every Day (including weekends): 07:00-22:00
Smartcard Access
All members require a Smartcard in order to access the facilities at the various sites.
Staff and Student members of Northumbria University Sport will have their access privileges uploaded to their Northumbria University Smartcard. Replacement cards must be acquired from Northumbria University Library at the associated fee payable in full by the member.
Associate and Public members will be provided with a Smartcard as part of their membership package which will be uploaded with access rights appropriate to their choice of membership package. There will be a £10 charge for replacement cards.

From the times I've visited Sports Central Arena to watch matches of Newcastle Eagles, the ticket prices are affordable and the food prices are cheaper too. Great viewing experiences and great wheelchair accessibility.
Use this gym and it's facilities nearly every day. Very accessible for wheelchair users as there is lifts available. Welcome desk are extremely helpful and welcoming.
