Live Theatre is recognised as one of the great new writing producing theatres on the international stage. It is deeply rooted in Newcastle/Gateshead where it is based. Live Theatre believes creativity and cultural engagement are central to the lives of individuals and that arts and culture should be recognised, supported and celebrated as significant contributors to the creative and economic wellbeing of our communities.

Live Theatre aims to contribute to a creative and just society, a population full of aspiration with a thirst for learning. It is also exploring new ways of growing and sustaining the creative and cultural sector leading to increased graduate retention, more SME’s and a stronger economy.

Live Theatre produces work as varied and diverse as the audiences it engages with. As well as championing the art of writing for the stage by producing and presenting new plays, Live Theatre unlocks the potential of young people and finds and nurtures creative talent.
