Herrington Country Park is is one of the largest parks in Sunderland and home to many exciting events

Overlooked by Penshaw Monument, Herrington Country Park offers walks and cycle trails, environmental sculptures and is home  to the long weekend  of the 'Sunderland Festival',  'The Race for Life', and 'Pretty Muddy' and has hosted national events such as the 'National Cross Country Championships'.

The park also features one of the largest open-air concert sites in the North East and contemporary children's play park, designed around a well known local myth, the story of the Lambton Worm. 

The park also plays host to many events hosted by the local community such as 'The Miners Memorial Service' and 'The Race for Grace'.
