The City Hotel is Georgian style built, which is owned by Heineken that is situated in Durham City. The hotel has different theme evenings and nights including, Thai food nights and gin experiences at a reasonable price.

The hotel can appear quite dark for those with a visual impairment, however once inside it is lighter and there is seating next to a window for extra light. Some seats in the bar area are low but others are at a good height and are very comfortable. 

The hotel bar is all on one level other than one step leading to the toilet, however there is stairs leading to the bedrooms with no lift facility.

The  Bedrooms are decorated at a good standard, include either two single/single or a double bed with an option for either a shower over a bath or a shower cubical.
