Beamish museum is all about the olden days. The museum is ok for access, some flat areas but mostly has cobbled roads, so not that good for wheelchairs. For those that can't manage the steps in the houses there are leaflets that have information and photos about the upstairs of the houses. Other buildings include a bakery and sweet shop.

The museum is really big and a lot of walking but there are trams that take you to different places at the museum. The step to get on the tram is a big step but if you can manage the step there are seats on the tram without going up more steps. For those that uses wheelchairs or those that can't manage the step there is also an  accessible tram which staff can help getting on and off the tram. For those wanting to plan the visit, there is a leaflet that tells you where everything is. There is a cafe, a fish and chip shop and a gift shop. It's not good for mobile phones as there is no signal. The staff are very friendly and it's a nice place to meet friends.
