The Beacon exists to inspire communities through enterprise

We have been doing that since we opened in early 2012, a Royal seal of approval provided by the Duke of Kent.
Standing prominently on the fringes of Newcastle city centre in Westgate Road, and close to the main arterial A1, a wide array of small but growing and evolving businesses operate from this vibrant flagship £6.5m centre, which also acts as a base for training and education.

Centre West and Groundwork

We also enjoy close relationships with our immediate local community and its people, who recognise in The Beacon a tremendous social, partnership and friendship hub - something given extra scope by our exhibition space and stylish Bistro.
We are owned and managed by North East charities Centre West and Groundwork South Tyneside and Newcastle, whose community and eco-friendly credentials ensured we were created for the present and the future - The Beacon has the latest environmentally sustainable design and build. In fact, all materials used in construction were chosen to maximise the potential to one day be recycled.
