Come along to this FREE event and learn more about Stringing Bedes: A Poetry and Print Pilgrimage, which celebrates the landscapes and life of the Venerable Bede. As part of its work the project has arranged a heritage evening at Whiteleas Community Centre (at the rear of the 'St. Mary with St. Martin Church', at the junction of Whiteleas Way/Hogarth Avenue) on the evening of Wednesday 11 November, 7.30 - 9pm.

Bede’s Cross
The ‘Stringing Bedes’ project is coordinated by the University of Sunderland’s WALK research group assisted by Bede’s World, South Tyneside Council and the Sunderland Cultural Partnership. It is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
walks along Bede’s Way, which skirts the Whiteleas Estate, and this heritage event commemorates these.
The evening will feature:
 Illustrated presentations about Bede, art, heritage and wildlife
 Art and readings of poetry inspired by walking through Bede’s landscape
 Displays & refreshment
