Spectacular re-enactment weekend event with the world-class Ermine Street Guard at Roman Vindolanda & Roman Army Museum.

The Ermine Street Guard is dedicated to research into the Roman Army and the reconstruction of Roman armour and equipment. Since its formation in 1972, the Guard has become the leading society studying the Roman Army and its equipment.

Each piece of kit is made as authentically as is practicable based on recent research. The majority of the equipment is made by Guard members to high standards of workmanship and accuracy and is continually being added to and improved as new information and finds become available. The Guard works closely with leading academics in the field to ensure the kit is correct based on current research.
