This Halloween people across the North East are spoilt for choice with an array of eerie events to choose from and there's a new one coming to Gateshead which should prove really popular.

On Saturday, October 27, Metro Radio will be staging a brand new spooky woodland trail event for all ages, aptly named The Walk of Fear which will start and finish at the popular Derwent Walk Country Park (near Blaydon Rugby Club) in Gateshead.

The two mile evening woodland trail walk will see families encountering trained performers from Gateshead College who will be out to frighten them, dressed as witches, zombies, ghosts and clowns with many more spooky surprises planned.

The Walk of Fear also involves fancy dress prizes, a spooky stage and music entertainment, face painting and Halloween themed food and drink. Appropriate for all ages, this event will ensure a safe, fun, family Halloween night out.

The event also hopes to raise thousands of pounds for local charity Cash For Kids, supporting young disadvantaged kids in the North East, with a donation given on every ticket sold.

Tickets are available online now from the Cash for Kids website and must be purchased in advance, priced at £10 per adult, £5 for under 16’s and £25 for a family ticket.

Gates with entertainment food and drink concessions open 5pm, walk starts at 6pm. No walkers permitted across start line after 7.30pm so arrive in good time.

Free Parking will be available on site at Blaydon Rugby Club with an overflow car park at Swalwell cricket club. Head to Rowland Gills from Swalwell Roundabout; after 400m take first left and immediate right before the bridge.
To avoid congestion, travel by public transport is encouraged.
