Beacon Hill Arts BFI Film Academy is searching for young people with learning disabilities, autism or additional needs who love films and want to develop their filmmaking talents!

  • Are you aged 16 - 19 years old?
  • Would you like to make and star in your own film?

No previous experience necessary.

TASTER AND APPLICATION WORKSHOPS - SUN 12 NOV:

  • Workshop 1: 10am – 12.30pm
  • Workshop 2: 1.30pm – 3pm

The Taster and Application workshop is free to attend and a fantastic opportunity to find out more about the Film Academy and apply for a place.

In addition to our professional filmmakers, trained support staff will be on hand to support individual needs.

After attending the Taster and Application workshop, 12 young people will be offered a place on the Film Academy. If offered a place, there is a one-off £25 administration fee. All of the filmmaking workshops are free.

Those young people offered a place should note that the Film Academy will run for 11 sessions on Sundays from the start of December and during the February 2018 half term holiday. Workshop sessions will take place at Key House in Newcastle.

Bursaries are available to cover travel and attendance costs, if needed.
